South Korea has the world’s highest prices for various fruits, with a record breaking import of mangoes and pineapples

According to South Korean customs data, pineapple and mango imports reached a historic high in March 2024, with pineapple increasing by 44.7% year-on-year and mango increasing by 114%. The import volume of bananas and oranges also reached a new high in several years, increasing by 27.7% and 1.7% respectively.
