Since its historical peak, coffee prices have sharply declined, dropping to around 100000 Vietnamese dong per kilogram on May 6th. The average price in various provinces of Vietnam is about 100800 Vietnamese dong/kg, with the highest price in Duonong Province reaching 101500 Vietnamese dong/kg. The increase in global coffee supply has led to Vietnamese coffee prices reaching a new low in nearly a month.
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, coffee exports reached 170000 tons in April this year, earning 644 million US dollars in foreign exchange. As of April 2024, the export volume and value of coffee reached 756000 tons and 2.57 billion US dollars respectively, an increase of 5.4% and 57.9% compared to the same period last year. The average export price was 3402 US dollars per ton, a year-on-year increase of 49.7%.
